Young Chef of the Year Winner 2013
Mark Moriarty aged 21 and from Dublin, was working at the Greenhouse in Dublin when he was crowned 2013 Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year. He was also in his final year of a culinary arts degree in DIT, where he wrote a thesis entitled ‘The Kitchen Athlete’ on stress management and working in a professional kitchen.
Previous to his win, Mark has completed short work stages at The Ledbury and Restaurant Tom Aikens in London, as well as experience in several top Irish kitchens. He was a runner up in the 2012 final of the Young Chef.
As Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year he has had the opportunity to represent Euro-Toques and Failte Ireland at several events at home and abroad, including Taste of Dublin, CATEX and Electric Picnic at home,and a St. Patrick’s weekend event in Paris. This September he travels to Boston to take part in chef demonstrations at ifest.
Mark currently teaches at COOKS ACADEMY in Dublin and is planning an exciting new venture which will soon bring an entirely new dining experience to Ireland.
