From a summer job in a cafe in Ardmore, Co. Waterford, a chef career began and formal training was pursued in Cork Institute of Technology in Professional Cookery in 1998 followed by a scholarship to Johnson and Wales University, Providence Rhode Island.
In 2001 take took a position at Fenn’s Quay working her way to the Head Chef position in 2006. In 2008, whilst completing a degree in culinary arts, the opportunity to take on the running of Fenn’s arose and Kate took a chance on it. Kate had since then become a Chef member of Euro-toques and had the honour of joining its Food council in 2012.
With an amazing team of chefs and front of house staff, a new lease of life has been given to Fenn’s with recent accolades of McKenna’s 100 best 2014 & 2015, RAI Cork’s best restaurant 2014 & 2015, Bord Bia & Georgina Campbell Just ask restaurant 2015.
