Producer Projects & Activities
Quality food producers are the backbone of what we do and central to the entire ethos of Euro-toques chefs. We believe it is not possible to cook good food without good ingredients to start out with. The success of our members depends on conscientious, passionate and hard-working food producers to supply us with outstanding food. Therefore, although one of the main objectives of Euro-toques International is to "Support producers of the best foods in Europe, be they small artisan food producers or large organisations", in reality they also support us.
Small and artisan food producers, and larger suppliers who maintain excellent quality standards, are truly our food heroes. They face many obstacles and difficulties in terms of the high level of regulation and bureaucracy in the industry today, and yet remain determined to produce food which resists homogenisation and puts taste at the forefront.
Food Committee
Our Food Committee, made up of chefs from all the regions of Ireland, is responsible for issues relating to traditional and artisan food, food products under threat, and particularly small and local food producers.
The Committee seeks out the best food producers around the country; those supplying Euro-toques chefs and those they would like to see supplying them. The Food Committee members are responsible for making the final selection for the Euro-toques Food Awards, having researched, tasted products and visited producers, following nominations from Euro-toques members.
